In the centre of Corsica, near the commune Piedigriggio, there is an isolated hill in the middle of a wild, preserved valley.
This is the home of Clos Venturi, a 28 hectare estate at 400+ metres altitude spread across sandstone dating from the Miocenelaid over a 100 million year old magmatic zone.
It is owned and operated by Manu Venturi, a native Corsican who took over from his father, Jean-Marc, nearly two decades ago. His philosophy is deeply rooted in environmental preservation and harmony in nature.
At Clos Venturi, nineteen different native Corsican varieties co-exist along with a plethora of biodynamic agriculture, including sheep, chickens, horses, cows and bees.
Manu’s objective is to produce healthier and more qualitative wines and he does not disappoint. His approach, married with an ideal climate combining continental freshness with southern maturity, yields wines with rich aromatic intensity and layered texture.
