Domaine La Courtade is located on the mythical and fertile island of Porquerelles, a 15 minutes boat ride from Hyeres on the coast of the French Riviera.
Named after the Courtade plain in the centre of the island, the estate was founded by Henri Vidal in 1983 and became organically certified in 1997. It was purchased by wine and art collector Edouard Carmignac in 2014.
Domaine de la Courtade’s 35 acres of vines span both the plain and the hillside, thriving in their rich terroir: soils of sand, schist and clay combined with a maritime climate of plenty of sun and just the right amount of insulation from the salty breezes of the Mediterranean.
Home to Porquerolles’ only contemporary art museum, managed by the Carmignac Foundation, the estate produces beautiful red, white and rosé wines of unique character reflecting the aromatic diversity of Provence.
